Misc. topics

Classroom Funding

Teachers spend far too much of their own money to provide better learning experiences for their students. An Increase in per student funding would be a welcome means to a solution.

Good Governance

The board of education needs to be knowledgeable about many aspects of the school district’s needs to be able to best serve students and staff. The inner workings of the schools and how to make them better is of utmost importance.

Mental Wellness

Mental wellness has come to the forefront in recent years not only regarding students but also staff. A student struggling with mental wellness issues cannot learn. A teacher with similar issues cannot not teach effectively. Help needs to be easily accessible.

Recycling

Environmental awareness should be included in our children’s educational experience. Recycling is a large part of this.

School Inclusion and Safety

Every student deserves a safe and comfortable learning environment regardless of race, religion or sexual orientation.

School Staffing

We need more teachers and more Education Assistants to effectively meet the needs of all students.

Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Curriculum and Supports

I welcome SOGI programming as part of the curriculum. Every student deserves to feel safe and accepted in their school and in their community. Teaching not only tolerance, but acceptance can only serve to make better schools and indeed a better world.

Youth

Our youth are our greatest hope for the future! Every child should have the opportunity for the best education available that focuses on the individual strengths and vision of each student.
