Abubakar Khan wants Vancouverites to feel less alone. He wants to give them a government that knows their problems, and neighbours who know who they are. Seniors, young people, families, businesses, professionals—Khan wants to tie them together for a more nurturing Vancouver.

Khan’s family came to Vancouver in 1912, and they taught him that this community matters. So when winter storms hit Vancouver in 2016, he opened his family mosque up to hundreds in need and worked with a Sikh Gurudwara to supply them regular meals. He’s organized rallies and charity programs. He’s collaborated with municipal and provincial government on cultural outreach. And he started a podcast, “The Chosen Khan,” to discuss mental health, addiction, racism and homelessness with Vancouver residents.

Khan is an independent with no interest in partisan bickering: he just wants to make everyone feel at home, in Vancouver. So if you agree with Khan that we’re #BetterTogether, make sure you head to the polls on October 20th.
