Florian is 19 years old and an undergraduate student at the University of Victoria pursuing a degree in sociology. Despite his young age, he has a history of activism in a variety of areas including, but not limited to, the environmental, peace, workers’, and students’ movements.

Florian was born in Vancouver, but has grown up in Victoria. He graduated from Oak Bay High School in 2019 and is now pursuing a degree in sociology at the University of Victoria. He is the organizer of the Young Communist League's Central Committee and the organizer of its Victoria club. In high school he helped organize his graduating class's involvement with the environmental movement, and at his university he has participated in the fight for free post-secondary education. Outside of his educational institutions, Florian's participation in social movements has included leading a "No War on Iran" rally in January of 2020, participating in a demonstration in support of the people of Kashmir, and marching as an ally in the Women's March and in Pride Parade. Florian, a Marxist-Leninist, is committed to fighting for social justice, decolonization, and socialism.
