Glenn was born in Edmonton, Alberta and at the age of 8 his family moved to Salt Spring Island. Glenn grew up as a commercial fisherman, deck handing for his father, later leasing several boats and eventually building his own boat to fish his way through Mechanical Engineering at UBC.
As an engineer, Glenn had a very rewarding experience working at Norpac Controls, serving the process industries in BC. Norpac was an award winning company and a terrific environment to enhance skills in business professionalism, responsibility, accountability and management. These were highlight years as Glenn and Fiona were married and were lucky enough to have three wonderful children. An opportunity to create a satellite office for Norpac provided a path back to island life with a move to Vancouver Island. When it eventually felt like a time for change, Glenn worked in management in the shellfish aquaculture industry and would later create his own seafood distribution company.
Glenn and his family have a strong connection with the Parksville-Qualicum riding. Spending the last twenty years living in Nanoose Bay and Qualicum Beach, all three children went to the local schools and Fiona has taught in the district. Glenn continues to develop Glacier View Seafoods but is driven to shift to political leadership.
