Jodie Wickens was elected to be the provincial government representative for the constituency of Coquitlam-Burke Mountain on Feb 2nd 2016. For the past 14 months Jodie has served as the New Democratic Official Opposition spokesperson for Early Childhood Development and Child Care and deputy spokesperson for Education.
A long time parent advocate, Jodie has worked with children and families with special needs in the education system. The diagnosis of her son with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) spurred Jodie into helping other parents with ASD find resources and support for their children. Prior to her election Jodie worked as a behaviour therapist in many family homes throughout the Tri-Cities and served as the Executive Director of the Autism Support Network, a not for profit organization that supplies support and resources to families with ASD.
Jodie has lived in Coquitlam for the past twelve years with her husband Brian and two children.
Currently, Jodie works tirelessly every day advocating for the interests of Coquitlam-Burke Mountain residents locally and provincially.
