I believe it’s time for concerned citizens across the province to step up and become more directly involved in shaping our political future. For some, like myself, this means running for political office. No longer should we passively accept to be governed by parties funded by big corporations and big unions whose primary aim is short term profits at the expense of longer term community and environmental well-being. BC is a province rich in natural resources and rich in human potential with an educated workforce and diverse cultures. We should be setting an example for the world in how to live in balance between strong economic growth and environmental protection. Focusing on creating the "new economy", rather than last century's pipe dreams, is where the BC Greens will govern from, creating more jobs not at the cost of our natural heritage.
I am honored and proud to be nominated to run for the BC Greens in Surrey-Whalley, an area where I grew up, and an area with tremendous potential to be an affordable and sustainable community.
