A lifelong resident of North Vancouver, James Mitchell is a passionate community volunteer currently serving as Vice Chair of the District of North Vancouver Public Library Board. He’s been an active volunteer with the Rotary Club of North Vancouver, MONOVA, and several other local not-for-profits with a focus on environmental conservation.

James currently works as a consultant providing project management, public affairs counsel, and advocacy advice to clients in the health care sector.

James has extensive experience advising local and national political figures on the important issues facing our province. He served as the British Columbia advisor to the Honourable Erin O’Toole, Leader of the Official Opposition, advised the Conservative Party of Canada under Stephen Harper on British Columbia related issues, and has successfully managed several local municipal campaigns.

Outside of politics, James has worked for Capilano University, Seaspan Shipyards, the Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce, and supported the University of British Columbia’s Institute for Veterans Education and Transitions. James’ first job was working for a local small business in Maplewood.

James grew up in Dollarton and Blueridge, he’s a proud Seycove alumni, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Majoring in History from Simon Fraser University.
