Karima Budhwani was born in Kenya and immigrated to Canada as a child, growing up with a deep appreciation for opportunity, resilience and community. A longtime Queen's Park resident, she holds a law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School and a master's in environmental studies from York University.

Karima has over 20 years of experience in the non-profit and justice sectors, including advancing access to justice and environmental justice. She is also a mental fitness and leadership coach and a former longtime Scouter with the Ismaili Scouts Group. She served as NWP President from 2023 to 2025.

A parent of two children raised in New Westminster, Karima cares deeply about the city's future. She is running for Council to focus on affordability, safer streets and strong core services, bringing a resident-centred approach to City Hall: listening early, communicating clearly, using taxpayer dollars responsibly and making practical decisions people can trust.
