Amarys brings a diverse background to her bid for School Board Trustee. Her background includes running her own business with a proprietary product design, legal administration, and collective bargaining support roles.

Amarys brings a diverse background to her bid for School Board Trustee. Her background includes running her own business with a proprietary product design, legal administration, and collective bargaining support roles. She currently serves as an Office Manager in post-secondary education where she manages staff, inventory, and project planning.

A dedicated advocate for her colleagues and neighbourhood, Amarys knows the pressures facing Vancouver's schools. As a school board trustee candidate with Vote Vancouver, she’ll advocate for families who need reliable, affordable daycare. With parents facing $3000 fees per month per child , lottery systems, and mismatched service hours, Amarys understands the issues Vancouver parents face.

She chairs the Workers of Colour Caucus and in her spare time, she serves as Secretary on the board of directors for Surfrider.

Amarys is running to improve how childcare services are offered through the school system and to shape the way education services are delivered in Vancouver.
