Biography
As a mother of two, I understand the importance of quality education. Both of my kids went to schools in SD43, and they've shared their many experiences with me. The successes and struggles they went through tell a story about our school district, about the changes it needs.
Before I came to Canada, I was a university teacher. Once I settled here, I went back to school, earned my Master of Education from UBC, and spent close to a decade as a case manager helping newcomer families find their footing in this country. I know what it feels like to start over. I know how much a strong school system matters to a family that is still learning the language and the culture.
For the last several years, I have served SD.43 as a parent leader. I was PAC Chair at Pinetree Secondary from 2021 to 2024. Before that, I represented Maple Creek Middle School and Panorama Heights Elementary at DPAC. I sat across the table from principals, superintendents, and district staff. I read the budgets and assist families to ask for help.
I am a tennis and pickleball player; I belong to Coquitlam Tennis Club and PoCoMo Pickleball Club.
