Biography

I bring eight years of experience on City Council, with a unique background and passion for making the City of North Vancouver a better place to live and work. I am a seasoned infrastructure project and risk management leader, urban thinker, and dedicated community volunteer.

I graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas Regional Secondary School and the UBC Sauder School of Business, where I earned a Bachelor of Commerce and later an MBA. Early in my career, I spent three years in Milan, Italy, working in logistics and product management for Whirlpool Europe.

For nearly 20 years, I have worked on major infrastructure projects and in risk management, taking on increasingly senior leadership roles. Today, I work full-time as Senior Director, Infrastructure and Capital Projects for a BC Crown corporation, leading complex projects and managing the risks and challenges involved in delivering critical infrastructure.

Serving the community in North Vancouver

Since 2010, I have also dedicated my time to serving my community, first through my strata council, and subsequently through a series of advisory and committee roles with the District and City of North Vancouver.

I have long been a proponent of public spaces where people can enjoy their city and streets, these are places where our community can gather, connect, and celebrate the outdoors.I was a founding member and Director of the North Van Urban Forum, a non-profit organization focused on addressing urban issues and encouraging consultation and transparency on the North Shore.

The group organized Project Waterfront: North Van Design Jam to stimulate discussion and engagement with citizens about the future development of Lot 5, now the Shipyards on the Lower Lonsdale waterfront. I was also part of the branding committee that helped turn Lot 5 into what we now know as “The Shipyards.”

Transportation is another one of my passions. As a former Chair of the HUB Cycling North Shore Committee, as well as through a variety of other local volunteer roles, I have worked with our community on cycling infrastructure and safety improvements for people of all ages and abilities, as well as e-bikes, ride-sharing, and other active transportation issues.

My wife, Elena, our cat Oliver Spritz, and I live in Lower Lonsdale. When we’re not devoting most of our time to work and volunteering, we enjoy travelling and looking for ideas we can bring home to help make our city even better.

I’m running for re-election because North Vancouver is an incredible place to live, and I believe there is still much more we can accomplish together.

Our city has been recognized as the best place to live in Canada for two consecutive years. That is something to celebrate, but never take for granted. I want to build on that success and ensure North Vancouver remains a place where people can work, raise a family, age in place, and build a future.

Over the next term, I will focus on what residents tell me matters most: better transit, more housing choices, a strong local economy, and more opportunities to enjoy our public spaces and community.
