Amanda Bains is a Gastown resident, healthcare worker, small-business owner and strata council president who is running for Vancouver Park Board with the Vancouver Liberals.

Raised in Surrey and now living in downtown Vancouver, Amanda understands how parks, recreation facilities and welcoming public spaces strengthen communities. She walks Vancouver’s parks and seawall daily with her three dogs and sees firsthand what is working—and where residents deserve better.

Amanda is committed to safer and cleaner parks, well-maintained public washrooms, expanded off-leash spaces and recreation programs that remain accessible to families, seniors and young people. She supports investing in community centres, pools and ice rinks while ensuring that growing neighbourhoods receive the parks and amenities they need.

As a Punjabi Sikh woman, Amanda believes Vancouver’s diverse communities should have a genuine voice in how public spaces and recreation programs are designed. She will bring practical leadership, lived experience and a strong community perspective to the Park Board—and work to ensure every Vancouver resident feels safe, included and welcome in our parks.
