Biography
Elenore Sturko is the Leader of CentreBC and our candidate for Surrey South. She brings experience in public service, policing, and the Canadian Armed Forces to her work in the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia.
Elenore Sturko was first elected as Surrey South MLA in 2022 and for Surrey-Cloverdale in 2024. In this time, she has worked on over one thousand cases to support her constituents.
A long-time Surrey resident, Elenore has dedicated her career to serving British Columbians. She began as part of the Canadian Armed Forces as a reservist in the Royal Canadian Air Force, then as a RCMP officer for the following 13 years, as a frontline officer, a member of the mounted musical ride, and later a media relations spokesperson.
During her role as MLA, she has been a fierce advocate for public safety, timely access to healthcare and compassionate care for mental health and addictions. She is a proven collaborator with different levels of government, testifying for the federal committee focused on the opioid epidemic, and a fierce critic, holding the provincial government’s feet to the fire to create real change in the Mental Health Act. With a strong team behind her, Elenore is prepared to continue to serve British Columbians.
Despite her professional accomplishments, Elenore’s proudest moments are as a working mom living in Surrey with her spouse, Melissa, and their three teenage children.
