A journeyman electrician with years on industrial and energy projects across B.C. Kyle understands how our systems actually work. He is not a career politician. He’s running to put money back in people’s pockets and improve services for all families, without political extremes.
Kyle’s goal is simple: make life more affordable for the families and seniors who call Langley–Walnut Grove home, and make sure health care is there when they need it. With CentreBC, every commitment is costed, the deficit shrinks every year after the first budget, and progress is reported publicly so voters can hold government to account. This is the balanced, practical approach undecided voters have been looking for.
Langley–Walnut Grove families and seniors are being squeezed from every direction. Housing has moved out of reach for too many people who grew up here. Groceries, insurance, and energy bills keep climbing. At the same time, getting a family doctor or timely care has become a real worry for parents and older residents alike. Kyle Stevenson sees it up close — as a Langley-raised father of a five-year-old and a newborn, husband of a nurse practitioner, and longtime Langley resident.
On affordability, CentreBC’s fully costed plan delivers concrete help. It lowers the first income tax bracket, saving a typical two-income family $540 a year. It raises the renter’s tax credit from $400 to $600. It freezes ICBC basic rates, while capping BC Hydro residential rate increases (never more than 3% a year). For family caregivers looking after high-need loved ones, the plan creates a $400 monthly benefit — direct support that helps families stay together and reduces pressure on the health-care system.
On health care, the plan is equally clear and measurable. By the end of 2031, everyone who wants a family doctor or nurse practitioner team will have one. It adds 600 nurse practitioner positions in the public system by 2030, expands assessment of internationally trained doctors, improves payment so family doctors can better care for patients with complex needs, and adds MRI capacity plus 15,000 more scheduled surgeries a year by 2030/31. This will cut the unacceptable surgery wait times that have built up under the NDP over the last four years.
I’m proud to run on a platform that focuses on green renewable energy. CentreBC will provide 20-year low fixed-rate loans so homeowners can finance projects like heat pumps, insulation, solar, and battery storage. This lets homeowners and the environment benefit immediately without the restrictive upfront cost of some of these projects. At the same time, it adds real value to households while unlocking substantial energy cost reductions, especially for those on fixed incomes.
I’m honored and proud to be on the ballot for Langley–Walnut Grove. As a tradesperson who’s spent years on the tools, I know what hard work looks like - and I have what it takes to outwork the career politicians in Victoria while actually representing the people of this riding, so they see real, measurable results.
