Tax measures and rebates
Liberal's promise
"This middle-class tax cut will save two-income families up to $825 a year, by reducing the marginal tax rate on the lowest tax bracket by 1 percentage point. More than 22 million Canadians will benefit directly from this tax cut, and middle- and low-income Canadians will benefit the most." — liberal.ca, retrieved 2025-04-14

National defence
Liberal's promises
"Expand the capabilities of the Navy with new submarines and additional heavy icebreakers to defend the North." — liberal.ca, retrieved 2025-04-14
"We will expand the reach and abilities of the Canadian Coast Guard and integrate them into our NATO defence capabilities. Our Coast Guard carries out important work, but we need to update their mission to face changing realities to protect our sovereignty and counter criminal activity, like the trafficking of illicit drugs. That’s why we will give the Canadian Coast Guard a new mandate—and the right equipment—to conduct maritime surveillance operations to secure our coasts." — liberal.ca, retrieved 2025-04-14
"We will end the chronic lapsing of defence spending, through the creation of a defence capital account that ensures that even when the timing of an investment changes, every dollar assigned to Canada’s defence will remain for that purpose." — liberal.ca, retrieved 2025-04-14
"We will modernize our procurement legislation to ensure our Forces can buy the equipment that they need, when they need it—which is now. We can also swiftly surpass our existing defence spending targets and bolster our capabilities by investing in dual purpose infrastructure—whether housing, cybersecurity, or satellite technology—that delivers immediate benefits for both our Forces and the public." — liberal.ca, retrieved 2025-04-14
"Creating a first-in-class drone capability that will build and deploy aquatic and airborne uncrewed vehicles to defend our arctic, our undersea infrastructure, our borders, and our allies. This new capability will be matched with an industrial strategy that builds and perfects these technologies so that Canadian companies benefit from Canadian procurements." — liberal.ca, retrieved 2025-04-14
Biography
John is a proud husband to Elaine and father of three—Kai, Hattie, and Kalani. He grew up on a farm on the prairies, where he learned the values of kindness and hard work, and that in life, family and community mean everything.
As a young man, he followed his passions for the environment, history, and public service when he began a career with Parks Canada—including 10 years managing Fort Langley National Historic Site. Over a 30-year career, John led national parks, historic sites, and programs across eight provinces and territories. Along the way, he had the privilege of experiencing Canada’s diverse history, breathtaking geography, rich culture, and proud traditions.
Wherever life took him, John brought his core values of hope, hard work, and family. He and Elaine chose Walnut Grove as the place to call home and raise their children. He knows the new riding of Langley Township–Fraser Heights deserves strong, experienced leadership—someone who understands the community and will get things done.
John has represented the region twice in Ottawa, and with your support, will do so again. First entering federal politics in 2015, John has been proud to serve as Chair of three committees: the Environment and Sustainable Development Committee, the Natural Resources Committee, and the Committee on Indigenous and Northern Affairs.
In addition to this work, John has also been a joint seconder on several important bills, including the National Framework on Cancers Linked to Firefighting Act, International Mother Language Day Act, Sikh Heritage Month Act, and An Act to Amend the Historic Sites and Monuments Act.
Locally, John has been a strong advocate for the sustainment of agricultural lands in the region, and has helped secure up to 2 billion in federal investments—from transit, affordable housing, and EV infrastructure to Indigenous initiatives, arts and culture, and youth programming.
Today, our country faces complex challenges—from growing global tensions to threats from Donald Trump. Mark Carney and the Liberal Party will stand strong to defend Canadian interests, and John Aldag will be your champion here at home.
John is committed to advocating for the diverse groups and sectors that make this riding vibrant. He knows that for families to thrive, businesses to grow, and everyone to succeed, Langley Township–Fraser Heights needs someone who can hit the ground running.
He’s done it before—and with your support, he’ll do it again. On April 28, vote John Aldag.
In the meantime, you can learn more about them on their website.
