Helen Conway Ottenheimer was born and raised in Marysvale, where she continues to live today with her husband, John Ottenheimer. Deeply rooted in the community she proudly represents, Helen was elected as the Member of the House of Assembly for Harbour Main on May 16, 2019.
Helen holds a Political Science degree from Memorial University, a Criminology degree from the University of Toronto, and a Law degree from the Detroit College of Law. Prior to entering public service, she practiced Criminal and Human Rights Law for 17 years, advocating for justice and equality. She has also shared her expertise as a law professor at universities across Canada, including Memorial University.
With a lifelong commitment to public service, education, and the people of Newfoundland and Labrador, Helen brings both legal insight and local understanding to her role as MHA.
