Marie is a first generation Canadian, the daughter of a nurse and an elementary school teacher, raised in North Burnaby. Marie and her late husband chose to build their home in the Douglas Park neighbourhood of Vancouver Granville, where she has been raising her family for the past 20 years. Marie has three children: twins, Elizabeth and Ben, and Lauren. She has deep roots in the community, as an active volunteer in her children’s schools, parish, and many local charities.
After completing her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a Marketing Diploma in Tourism Management, Marie enjoyed a rewarding career in communications and public relations in the airline and hotel industries. Marie speaks fluent French and conversational Spanish.
