Biography
Don Stewart and his two daughters have proudly called St. Paul’s home since 2016, with his family roots in the riding dating back over 100 years. Elected in a by-election in June 2024, Don became the first Conservative Member of Parliament for Toronto—St. Paul’s in over three decades.
Growing up in Oshawa, Don earned degrees in Engineering and Business from Queen’s University. He began his career selling construction products, learning the importance of fiscal responsibility and valuing every dollar. His experience expanded through his work at BMO and Morgan Stanley on Bay Street, where he gained a global perspective on financial markets.
Don has also worked with the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO), ensuring Canada’s capital markets remain safe, fair, and efficient. His career has been shaped by the belief that hard work, sound economic policy, and fiscal accountability drive innovation and success.
In addition to his professional achievements, Don is committed to community service, having volunteered with organizations such as the Lakeridge Hospital Foundation and the Canadian Armed Forces. He serves as Treasurer of the 2 Intelligence Company Senate, is a former Professional Engineer, and is a CFA charterholder.
Don has received overwhelming support from all corners of the community since his election. People thank him at events, on the street, and in visits to the office for his dedication to serving as their voice in Parliament. He is committed to bringing home a brighter future by advocating for safer streets, stronger paycheques, and lower taxes. It is Don’s mission to serve ALL residents of the riding and ensure a united and strong Toronto—St. Paul’s.
