Biography

from their website

Janice was born, raised and attended school in Ste Rose du Lac. Growing up on a family cattle ranch, her parents instilled the importance of hard work and family. After she graduated high school, she moved to Winipeg and attended the University of Manitoba.

Following a career in the social services for twenty-years, predominately in domestic violence, in 2016, Janice was elected and served two terms as the Conservative Member of the Legislative Assembly for Seine River. As an MLA, she held positions on boards and committees and was the Minister of Mental Health and Community Wellness. Through her work in the social services and government, Janice had the opportunity to work with many organizations and Canadians from diverse backgrounds.

For the last forty years, Winnipeg South has been Janice’s home. It is where she raised her children, operated a small business, and volunteered with various community organizations. Janice’s grandfather immigrated to Canada to build a future for his family. Canada is a great country, but in the last nine years it has changed for the worst. Canadians are struggling. As your Member of Parliament Janice will bring your concerns to Ottawa and fight on your behalf.
