As a professional engineer, Ann comes with a wealth of knowledge and practical experiences. Her first degree in physical metallurgy, led her to work as a design and production engineer of microwave switches for a communication satellite sub- contractor in Ontario (ComDev). However Ann’s work has primarily been in historical
building conservation with contractors and as a consultant, where she utilized her master’s in structural engineering. Additionally, she has a degree in education.
Ann’s enthusiasm has been a driving force in organizing community volunteers and as a front-line volunteer herself. She has helped and worked with seniors, been a counsellor for at-risk youth, a math tutor, a distress phone-line volunteer and executive, and a soccer coach. Since 2015, she has directed her energy toward local climate action initiatives and supporting the private sponsorship of refugees.
Favouring long-view leadership and the pragmatic policies of the Green Party of Canada, as your representative, Ann will work diligently to represent King-Vaughan’s people in Parliament and inform constituents with weekly updates and town halls. Ann will work toward building alliances for climate action, a resilient clean economy, a caring society, and a return to peace and diplomacy.
In Parliament, Ann will collaborate with others to respectfully offer improvements or constructive criticism as an effective opposition MP is required to do. As a Green MP she will help to ensure the new government is transparent, fiscally responsible, socially progressive, and environmentally focused for the short and long term as we reorder our economy to be resilient and robust. “We all must pull together to create more possibilities for everyone, now, and in the future.”
