Jaz (they/them/theirs) is a community-minded and engaged researcher, artist, and organizer who is motivated by a deep curiosity and appreciation for the lived experiences and perspectives of the people around them. They are committed to advancing systemic change, environmental protections and stewardship, and social justice.
Jaz holds an undergraduate degree in Political Studies, a Master’s Degree in Cultural Analysis and Social Theory, and is completing a SSHRC supported Doctorate in Interdisciplinary Social Research at Trent University, where they serve as the President of the graduate student union. They sit on the board of directors of a large arts organization in Peterborough, are a graduate research associate with the Trent Center for Aging and Society, and are researching the experiences of older transgender and gender diverse adults in Ontario using arts-based methodologies.
Jaz is hoping to bring a data driven, community directed approach to their campaign and is looking forward to hearing what matters most to the constituents in their riding.
