I am a climate organizer and educator running for District of North Vancouver council because I believe we need representatives who are focused on building a community for everyone. I was a lead organizer of the September 2019 Climate Strike, one of the largest protests in Vancouver history, attended by more than 100,000 people. I have worked closely with staff and councillors from municipalities across Metro Vancouver to implement climate action plans.
I ran to represent North Vancouver-Seymour in the last provincial election with the BC Green Party.
I moved to Lynn Valley 19 years ago. I grew up playing street hockey with the other young kids in the neighbourhood, exploring the incredible forests and discovering secret swimming holes in Lynn Creek. I quickly fell in love with this community and I hope to one day raise my own family here.
Most people my age don’t see any future for themselves in the District. The cost of housing is out of reach for most people and there are very few affordable rental options. Every age demographic under 50 years old has been steadily decreasing over the past two decades. The status quo in our community simply is not working.
On council, my top priorities will be:
- Increasing access to affordable, social and co-op housing to meet the needs of essential workers, young families, students and seniors
- Improving reliability, efficiency and safety of public and active transportation options
