Hi, I’m Sarah Furlong—a foster parent, mental health advocate, and proud mom of three. I’ve lived in Mount Pearl–Southlands since 2012, and I’m running to be your next MHA because I care deeply about our community and the direction we’re heading.
For nearly 20 years, I’ve worked to support others—through youth programs, local events, the arts, and national mental health initiatives. I’m the co-founder of the Mental Health Foundation of Canada and a licensed foster parent, experiences that have shown me the strengths of our systems and the areas where real improvements are needed.
I’m committed to making life better for families—by improving access to healthcare earlier, before people are in crisis. I believe in strengthening our schools, so every child learns in a safe, inclusive, and modern environment. And I want to help build stronger, safer communities, where people feel supported, connected, and heard.
This isn’t about politics for me—it’s about people. I’m ready to listen, to show up, and to do the work. It would be an honour to earn your support and represent Mount Pearl–Southlands in the House of Assembly.
