Lorne Coe and his family have called Whitby their home for over thirty years. Over his career, he has held senior positions in both the private sector and the Ontario Government, where he worked as a Senior Manager, Communications at the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Finance and Seniors Affairs.

Prior to his election as MPP of Whitby-Oshawa in the bi-election February 2016 and again as the MPP for Whitby in the General Election of 2018, Lorne served on the Whitby Town Council and at Durham Regional Council for thirteen years.
