Gillian grew up in Tuffnell, SK near Foam Lake, where she now lives. She was in 4H in high school and had her own small herd of cows. She attended university at the U of S where she studied Animal Science and Ag Business. Gillian held a long-term position with the provincial SPCA as an Animal Protection Officer. Then retraining as a massage therapist, she has pursued that field to this day in the town of Foam Lake. She also helps her parents manage their cattle herd and is slowly growing her own herd.
Gillian Halyk feels that it is important to stand up for the environment – for the sake of all of us, and for the animals who cannot speak for themselves. She is living her candidacy for the sake of the ranchers of tomorrow.
