Alesha Bruce started her teaching career in 2007. She has taught in Christopher Lake, Wildrose, Red Wing, Spruce Home and Shellbrook – as well as all the schools in Prince Albert since she has always been ready to help out as a substitute teacher.
Alesha’s great-grandparents on her dad’s side homesteaded in Shellbrook. Her great-grandparents on her mom’s side homesteaded at Christopher Lake. She has deep family ties in the area. She is Treaty Dene on her mom’s side, and of Metis lineage on her dad’s side.
Alesha believes strongly in sustainability and wants to do her part to leave an ecologically sound world for the next generations. She has taught sustainability in the classroom. Alesha also has four children and being a mother motivates her to advocate for the planet.
Alesha has personal reasons for advocating to end homelessness. One of her hopes as a Green candidate is to see a Guaranteed Liveable Income and a Housing First Policy put in place in Saskatchewan. She also feels very strongly about mental healthcare being provided from cradle to grave.
These key Saskatchewan Green Party policies were instrumental in Alesha’s decision to become our candidate for Saskatchewan Rivers MLA.
