Biography

submitted by the candidate or their team
27 years old. July 7th 1995. Oshawa-born, Scarborough Raised. On & Off Homeless. Social Scientist, Activist, Poet.
  • One of few Youth Candidates (18-30).
  • Studied at George Brown College (Alumni) Gen. Arts and Sciences
  • Studied at York University (Almunus) Interdisciplinary Social Sciences.
  • First fist fight at 5 years old against another child who used a slur against my cousin who is "mixed".
  • Born in the heart of a failure of both the automotive industry and social services as a whole (Oshawa).
  • Raised and weekend to fulltime resident of Scarborough through my Great-grandparents.
  • Was the caretaker and was cared for by my Great-Grandmother for 8 years (17-25)
  • Former Member of the Zeitgeist movement, Justice for Workers, Fight for $15, the Ontario Coalition Against Poverty, Communist Party of Canada, and a Student Advisory Committee for Kathleen Wynne in my 5th year of Highschool.
  • Autodidact and constantly pushing for more knowledge and fighting against Power and the Status Quo. \

I have continually lost those I care for, through mistakes, misdeeds, and systemic issues. I am far from perfect, but I try to be honest and accountable for the harm I am responsible for and the healing I need to do. I am most likely AuDHD and have been a beneficiary of some of the slimly-funded social services offered to children to improve their speaking and motorskill issues as a child. I believe this has helped facilitate a 'growth-mindset' in me. I have struggled with mental health but I have found an Eternal Spring within my Neverending Winter. I realized I didn't want to die but rather wanted to live in a different way and help facilitate a better world.

I would like to close my biography with a quote from George L. Jackson I quite enjoy:

"Settle your quarrels, come together, understand the reality of our situation, understand that fascism is already here, that people are already dying who could be saved, that generations more will live poor butchered half-lives if you fail to act. Do what must be done, discover your humanity and your love in revolution."
