Ian de Hoog is a dedicated Surrey resident, husband, father, and community advocate committed to building a safer, more affordable, and better-connected city. Married for 30 years and the proud father of three adult children, Ian understands the importance of creating opportunities for families at every stage of life. Having called Surrey home for more than a decade, he has seen both the opportunities and challenges of one of Canada’s fastest-growing cities.

As part of the New Surrey+ team, Ian is committed to igniting hope, strengthening unity, accelerating progress, and rebuilding trust in local government. He believes Surrey’s future depends on practical solutions that improve daily life, including public safety, responsible financial management, better transportation, thoughtful development, and vibrant community spaces.

Ian is running for Surrey Council to provide transparent, accountable leadership and help create a future where residents across all six neighbourhoods can see, feel, and be proud of positive change.
