Biography
“I believe good representation starts with listening, understanding local concerns, and working together.”
Calvin Dang is a long-time Richmond business owner, entrepreneur, community leader, and youth sports advocate. Since 2014, he has operated federally registered food-processing businesses specializing in fresh seafood and meat.
Through his business career, Calvin has built long-standing relationships with restaurants, supermarkets, food-service businesses, families, consumers, commercial fishers, fishing communities, and Indigenous communities. His experience managing operations, employees, suppliers, customers, and logistics has given him practical knowledge of small business, local industry, and the food and seafood sectors.
For more than five years, Calvin has helped lead a non-profit Asian Canadian basketball organization in Richmond serving approximately 1,000 members. Working with youth, parents, families, coaches, and volunteers, he supports programs that promote physical activity, teamwork, healthy lifestyles, and positive opportunities for young people.
Calvin is also a Board Member of the Canadian Community Service Association and has developed extensive relationships across Richmond’s Chinese and Asian communities and with people from diverse backgrounds. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Manitoba.
Calvin believes good representation starts with listening, understanding local concerns, and working together. He is seeking to bring his business leadership, community service, and commitment to families and youth into provincial public service through practical, collaborative, and community-focused representation.
