“I will continue to show up, listen, and act to deliver better policies that benefit the community.”

Sarah MacLeod is a film professional, fundraiser and community advocate who has become deeply involved in civic issues affecting Vancouver-Little Mountain, including housing, affordability, public safety, sustainability and government transparency.

Sarah spent more than a decade working as an assistant director in the film industry, managing schedules and budgets on productions in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver. Her experience coordinating complex productions gave her a background in organization, collaboration and working with diverse teams under demanding conditions.

In recent years, Sarah has worked in fundraising and advocacy for healthcare, environmental and humanitarian causes. She has personally helped raise significant funds for nonprofit organizations and has trained and managed other fundraisers supporting a range of causes.

Sarah’s interest in civic engagement led her to regularly attend Vancouver City Council meetings and public hearings for more than a year. She has spoken on issues including improving Vancouver’s tree canopy, expanding supportive housing and advancing Truth and Reconciliation efforts.

Her community involvement also includes neighbourhood street cleanups and advocacy for the protection of local species and habitat. Sarah believes lasting change begins with listening to people, understanding their concerns and remaining engaged in the decisions that affect their communities.

Sarah is running in Vancouver-Little Mountain to bring the concerns of her neighbours to the Legislature and to advocate for a more affordable, equitable and sustainable community.
