Co-op housing, Tiny homes, investment partnerships. Look at existing funding models, work to connect non-profit and federal government,

Enable approval for smaller unit size, reduce size but high functioning living quarters for single and double occupancy

Arts and Culture

Make Maple Ridge the Live Music Capital of the Fraser Valley

I am a semi-professional musician, and sing and play piano in multiple performing groups. I've been a JUNO award judge and served on the Board of Directors for the Arts Council. I wholeheartedly support Arts and Culture because I understand the benefits and impact it has on both our well-being and our economy.
We can create vibrant venues for live music by removing barriers (such as permits and fees), provide incentives (such as a tax credit) for venues to hire local talented artists, and build our tourism industry to provide steady local jobs for artists to earn a living wage. We need to provide funding and support for festivals and special events that support local talent. We can create a live entertainment zone in the downtown area where local merchants are encouraged to contribute to a vibrant nightlife.

Environment & Sustainability

Provide green incentive

Recycling

We started the Recycling program. Time to expand to total Wate Management

We need a holistic view of Waste Management. An all-encompassing strategy on composting, recycling, bio-waste, e-waste, local jobs, wildlife, and education. It is logical that cost is reduced when a process is innovative, simplified and efficient, which cannot be achieved individually or by piecemeal. It will require pragmatic planning and sound strategies. Managing Waste is key to our sustainability

Biography

Knowledge of every level of government. - 30 years of professional problem-solving skills working in the high-tech and engineering industry. - Extensive voluntary roles in this community with demonstrated leadership, accountability, and fiscal responsibility.

This community will benefit from my knowledge and understanding of every level of government, from having been a Federal MP candidate, Provincial MLA- and Council candidate. From my 30 years of professional, pragmatic and rational problem-solving skills working in the high tech and engineering industry, from working at NBC Studio in New York City to helping to create and manage our national aviation navigation engineering data system at Nav Canada. Most importantly from the experience gained through my extensive voluntary roles in this community, from leadership to boots-on-the-ground. Through leadership roles such as President of the Haney Rotary Club that puts millions of dollars back into this community, Area Commissioner for Scouts Canada that provide unique learning opportunities for over a thousand youths, and Chair of multiple festivals and event committees that work to promote arts and culture in our city. I have demonstrated leadership, accountability, and fiscal responsibility in all these roles. In addition, I have also worked in trusted roles as an RCMP Auxiliary Constable, and a judge for the JUNO awards.
