Affordability & Housing

Tax measures and rebates

Liberal's promise

Reduce the marginal tax rate on the lowest tax bracket by 1 percentage point

"This middle-class tax cut will save two-income families up to $825 a year, by reducing the marginal tax rate on the lowest tax bracket by 1 percentage point. More than 22 million Canadians will benefit directly from this tax cut, and middle- and low-income Canadians will benefit the most." — liberal.ca, retrieved 2025-04-14

Sovereignty, Foreign Relations, & the United States

National defence

Liberal's promises

Commission new submarines and heavy icebreakers

"Expand the capabilities of the Navy with new submarines and additional heavy icebreakers to defend the North." — liberal.ca, retrieved 2025-04-14

Give the Canadian Coast Guard a new mandate and equipment to conduct maritime surveillance operations

"We will expand the reach and abilities of the Canadian Coast Guard and integrate them into our NATO defence capabilities. Our Coast Guard carries out important work, but we need to update their mission to face changing realities to protect our sovereignty and counter criminal activity, like the trafficking of illicit drugs. That’s why we will give the Canadian Coast Guard a new mandate—and the right equipment—to conduct maritime surveillance operations to secure our coasts." — liberal.ca, retrieved 2025-04-14

Give all members of the Armed Forces a raise
Build on-base housing
Improve access to doctors, mental health services, and childcare within the Armed Forces
Dedicate funding for defence through a new defence capital account

"We will end the chronic lapsing of defence spending, through the creation of a defence capital account that ensures that even when the timing of an investment changes, every dollar assigned to Canada’s defence will remain for that purpose." — liberal.ca, retrieved 2025-04-14

Modernise the procurement process for equipment, and invest in dual-purpose infrastructure that serves both the Forces and the public

"We will modernize our procurement legislation to ensure our Forces can buy the equipment that they need, when they need it—which is now. We can also swiftly surpass our existing defence spending targets and bolster our capabilities by investing in dual purpose infrastructure—whether housing, cybersecurity, or satellite technology—that delivers immediate benefits for both our Forces and the public." — liberal.ca, retrieved 2025-04-14

Build and deploy aquatic and airborne drones

"Creating a first-in-class drone capability that will build and deploy aquatic and airborne uncrewed vehicles to defend our arctic, our undersea infrastructure, our borders, and our allies. This new capability will be matched with an industrial strategy that builds and perfects these technologies so that Canadian companies benefit from Canadian procurements." — liberal.ca, retrieved 2025-04-14

from their website

Supply chain expert, community advocate, proud Canadian, champion of Calgary, and long-term Strathcona resident, Bryndis Whitson is running to be the Member of Parliament for Calgary Signal Hill.

Raised with a heart for service and a deep appreciation for community, Bryndis has been politically active since the age of eighteen and has held multiple positions with the party both at the provincial and federal levels. Her passion for building stronger communities has shaped her professional efforts supporting clean water initiatives, increasing awareness of Alberta's supply chain and logistics concerns, and supporting out-of-work individuals experiencing career transition.

A lifelong volunteer, holding a double Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies, Geography and Political Science, with an equivalent minor in Transportation, from the University of Calgary, Bryndis celebrates Calgary’s proud past while being committed to making this community thrive for all.

Bryndis co-led Canada’s only Girl Guide unit for young offenders for thirteen years, giving young women the tools to rebuild their futures. Through her work at Lifemark, she empowered job seekers to successfully re-enter the workforce. And, based on direct experience, she also understands the challenges families face in supporting seniors who want to stay in their homes.

While at the Van Horne Institute, she collaborated with researchers and industry leaders to drive innovation in transportation and digital infrastructure, strengthening Alberta’s supply chain and finding new ways to connect Calgary’s businesses to the world. Continuing her passion for this work, Bryndis now hosts and produces Zebras to Apples, an engaging podcast that showcases fun and fascinating stories from the world of supply chain and logistics.

Named one of the Top 20 Compelling Calgarians by The Calgary Herald during her time at the Centre for Affordable Water and Sanitation Technology (CAWST), in addition to supporting clean water initiatives, Bryndis developed a youth education program recognized by the Donner Foundation to be among Canada’s best.

Now, Bryndis is ready to bring that same drive and commitment as your Member of Parliament for Calgary Signal Hill.

Bryndis Whitson is a leader who will listen to your concerns, hear your priorities, stand up for your values, and be the effective voice you need in Ottawa.
