Biography
Angus Ross has devoted his life to serving Canada—with integrity, leadership, and a deep commitment to community and public safety.
With a distinguished career in law enforcement, Angus has worked to protect communities and build safer neighbourhoods through proactive, community-focused policing. He has served on the front lines, confronting the drug and mental health crises with a focus on prevention, compassion, and collaboration. Angus believes strong relationships between police and the communities they serve are essential to lasting safety and trust.
His resolve to make Victoria a safer place for families and future generations continues to drive his work today.
From 2018 to 2021, Angus brought his public safety experience to local government as a Municipal Councillor. He worked to cut red tape, support small businesses, and ensure city decisions delivered real-world results for residents.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Guelph and has completed advanced training at the Calgary Police Learning Centre, the Ontario Police College, and the Canadian Armed Forces Leadership School.
Angus’s commitment to service extends beyond the criminal justice system and the Armed Forces. As President of the Pacific Coast Swimming Association, he partnered with Swim BC to promote youth participation in competitive sports. A lifelong athlete, Angus proudly represented Canada as a member of Triathlon Team Canada for six years.
A fourth-generation Victorian, Angus lives in Victoria with his wife, a respected family physician, and their two teenage sons. With deep roots in the community, he is committed to helping build a safer, stronger, and more united Victoria—while standing up for the values that make Canada great.
