Biography
Amrik Narang has called Abbotsford home since he was four years old. Raised in a hardworking farming family, he grew up helping on the family farm and learned early the values of hard work, responsibility, service, and community.
For more than 25 years, Amrik has worked as a lawyer, helping individuals, families, and businesses navigate complex challenges and make important decisions. He is also a Business Law Instructor at the University of the Fraser Valley, a local farmer and business owner.
Community service has been an important part of Amrik’s life. He currently serves on the Abbotsford Police Board, as Chair of its Governance and Policy Committee; as a Director and former Vice-President of the Fraser Valley Indo-Canadian Business Association; as a Board Member with Archway Community Services; and as President of the Abbotsford & District Bar Association.
Amrik is running for Abbotsford City Council because he believes the city needs practical, thoughtful leadership as it continues to grow. He wants to bring his legal, business, agricultural, teaching, and community experience to City Hall, with a focus on public safety, responsible management of taxpayer dollars, supporting local businesses, improving recreation opportunities, and making City services more efficient.
For Amrik, public service is about listening, working collaboratively, and finding practical solutions that move Abbotsford forward.
Amrik Narang habite Abbotsford depuis l’âge de quatre ans. Élevé dans une famille d’agriculteurs travailleurs, il a grandi en aidant sur la ferme familiale et a appris très tôt l’importance du travail, de la responsabilité, du service et de l’engagement communautaire.
Depuis plus de 25 ans, Amrik exerce le droit et aide des particuliers, des familles et des entreprises à relever des défis complexes et à prendre des décisions importantes. Il est également chargé de cours en droit des affaires à l’Université de la vallée du Fraser, agriculteur local et propriétaire d’entreprise.
Le service communautaire occupe une place importante dans la vie d’Amrik. Il a notamment siégé au conseil de police d’Abbotsford, où il a présidé le comité de gouvernance et des politiques. Il a aussi été administrateur et ancien vice-président de la Fraser Valley Indo-Canadian Business Association, membre du conseil d’administration d’Archway Community Services et président de l’Abbotsford & District Bar Association.
Amrik se présente au conseil municipal d’Abbotsford parce qu’il croit que la croissance de la ville exige un leadership pratique, réfléchi et responsable. Il souhaite mettre son expérience en droit, en affaires, en agriculture, en enseignement et en service communautaire au service de la Ville, en mettant l’accent sur la sécurité publique, la gestion responsable de l’argent des contribuables, le soutien aux entreprises locales, l’amélioration des possibilités de loisirs et l’efficacité des services municipaux.
Pour Amrik, le service public consiste à écouter, à travailler en collaboration et à trouver des solutions concrètes qui font progresser Abbotsford.

Abbotsford is growing, and the decisions made at City Hall today will shape the community for years to come. Amrik Narang is running for City Council because he believes residents deserve practical, accountable leadership focused on getting the fundamentals right.
Amrik will bring a thoughtful, common-sense approach to Council. His priorities include keeping Abbotsford safe, supporting local businesses and agriculture, improving access to recreation, managing growth responsibly, and ensuring taxpayers receive good value for their money.
With more than 25 years of legal experience, along with experience in business, farming, education and community service, Amrik understands how to work through complex issues, ask the right questions and make responsible decisions.
He believes City Council should listen carefully, work collaboratively and focus on solutions rather than politics. Amrik will bring an independent voice to City Hall and will approach every decision with one question in mind: is this in the best interests of the people of Abbotsford?
