Mandy Potter is a venture capitalist, entrepreneur, and community builder dedicated to creating opportunities for underrepresented founders and future generations of leaders. She is the Founder and Managing Partner of Misfit Ventures, Canada’s first VC fund focused on LGBTQ+ founders and inclusive innovation. Through her work, Mandy has helped support entrepreneurs, build strategic partnerships, and advocate for greater access to capital and economic opportunity.

Before launching Misfit Ventures, Mandy built multiple technology companies and has worked in numerous sectors and geographies. She is passionate about creating systems that help people succeed, particularly those who have historically been overlooked. Her work sits at the intersection of business, education, social impact, and inclusion.

As a parent raising a daughter who is entering the Vancouver school system, Mandy understands the importance of safe, welcoming, and high-performing schools. She believes every student deserves the opportunity to learn in an environment where they feel respected, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential. She is running for School Board Trustee because she wants to help strengthen public education, support student success, ensure schools remain inclusive for all families, and bring a practical, community-focused perspective to decisions that shape the future of local students.
