Biography

Melissa Snazell is the BC Green candidate for Langley–Abbotsford, focused on affordable living, accessible healthcare, responsible growth, protecting farmland and nature, and building stronger, more resilient communities for the future.

A little about myself and why I’m running for MLA with the BC Greens. I want people in our community to have a real say in the decisions that shape their lives. In the Fraser Valley, we can see how the cost of living, access to health care, and a changing climate affect families and neighbourhoods. These issues are connected, and I believe we need practical solutions that make life more affordable and help our communities prepare for the future. I’ve spent much of my working life as a veterinary and pharmacy technician, where I’ve learned to listen carefully, solve problems, and take responsibility for people who depend on me. I’m also studying applied geography, philosophy, and policy at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. That combination of frontline experience and academic work has taught me to look closely at the evidence while remembering who is affected by a decision. I would bring that approach to the Legislature: listening to people locally, asking hard questions, and working for solutions that are fair, workable, and grounded in the needs of our community.
