La Chine a ses lois.

Climate Change

Michel Walsh's promise

I consider that democracy is about making doable that the greatest number of people could do what they want to do. That does not mean that they should do the same thing. In fact, they can do the opposite. Same a fire and water, they can be considered irreconcilable enemies, but an Engineer can make both work together, in a steam engine, and thus, the society could now go where it couldn’t with just fire, or just water.

Or, as another example, one can imagine a vote to know where a family should go for the next long holidays. It may happen that 60% of the family would prefer to go to Gaspé, and 40% to Niagara. In a democracy of the 50%+1, then everyone goes to Gaspé. In my view, though, those who want to do to Gaspé go to Gaspé and those wishing to visit Niagara, well, they do so too. But wait, it should be a family trip, so what? In the 50%+1, no discussion, we all go to Gapsé, that is, no discussion, the vote has spoken. In my point of view, we can discuss, since, indeed, we are open to discussion, the vote is not a finality, and remember the first part: “making doable”. And with discussion, we may very well invent another solution, such as spending 60% of the holidays’ time to Gaspé and 40% to Niagara. The point is the discussion is the basic stone, rather than a vote becoming a rigid block of concrete.

And of all the parties on the federal scene, the PPC is the one fitting the best my point of view of what is a democracy: Freedom, of actions, of the action that the greater possible number of people wishes to do, while not necessary the same action. With Responsibility coming with this freedom. And Respect of the opinions and views of others, treated with Equity. And more than an opinion of the chief about a given topic, it is HOW that chief chooses to “solve” a problem which is occurring: discussion. And in sincerity, with no sugar coated over known unpleasant surprises coming later, from a proposed solution.
