I am 70 years old with 4 kids and 10 grandkids. For this reason, I am concerned about the future of Canada that my family will inherit.
I am military and grew up in a military family. I have lived in Canada, USA and Germany. This has given me a more worldly view than most. I am also religious. As a Christian I attend the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where I have been taught to take care of the earth, my family and my community.
I believe that the role of an MP is to represent their constituents, even when they disagree with their wishes. I will always vote in Parliament in accordance with the desires of my constituents. When they don't tell me what they wish, I will vote my conscience. The People's Party of Canada is non-whipped so I am not constrained to vote along party lines when my constituents hold different views.
It is time Canada returned to great nation it once was. The present government and the recent past governments have been spending money like it grows on trees. It is inappropriate to be sending so much money to other countries when we cannot even look after our own people. When everyone has clean water, enough food and some place to live, then we can help others who have those problems. The only money leaving the country should be for help in natural disasters.
Canada should be a country governed by the people for the people.
