Trans Rights & Access to Public Services

I support the human rights of the LGBTQ+ community.

Local Government, Planning, & Democracy

Budgeting

Ontario school boards have been chronically underfunded since 2018; I promise to advocate for needs-based funding for the OCDSB.
I commit to transparency around budget decisions and my voting record (when provincial supervision is lifted).
When provincial supervision is lifted, I promise to allocate resources to the areas of greatest need and to ensure student safety.

Good Governance

Clear communication of the board's actions through a Zone 10-specific website that I maintain.
Restoring trust in the board through strong fiscal management.
Accessible meetings that can be viewed online
Restoring trust in the board through respectful engagement with other trustees, parents, and community groups.

I commit to advocating against provincial overreach and working to restore local democratic decision-making and accountability at the OCDSB.

Mental Health, Drugs, & Addiction

Mental Health in Schools

I will support anti-hate and anti-bullying initiatives
I will explore the feasibility of a board-wide response to mental health, with resources such as social workers allocated.

Public Safety & Policing

Police in Schools

Police are an emergency service; as such, I do not support their permanent presence in schools.
I commit to exploring alternative supports for student safety, such as on-site social workers and adequate social supports in schools that are facing challenges.

Reconciliation & Indigenous Nations

Indigenous Schooling

I commit to supporting policies and programs that address systemic barriers for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students and commit to listening and learning from Indigenous voices in our community.

Place Names & Commemorations

Place names and commemorations should reflect sensitivity to historical atrocities, and I would oppose commemorating individuals responsible for harming Indigenous communities.

Residential Schools

I acknowledge that the Canadian Indian Residential School system constituted cultural genocide, and the system as a whole was an act of genocide.
I acknowledge that children were routinely prohibited from speaking their native languages, forced to adopt European names and Christianity, and subjected to widespread physical, emotional, and sexual abuse.
I acknowledge that overcrowded, underfunded conditions and disease led to the deaths of thousands of children, with thousands buried in unmarked graves.
I commit to opposing all forms of residential school denialism within the scope of my role as a trustee

Reason for running

submitted by the candidate or their team
To restore the board's local governance, advocate for increased needs-based funding from the province, protect specialized programs and student supports, and offer a progressive anti-hate option to voters.

I am a parent running for OCDSB Zone 10 Trustee because every student deserves to feel safe, supported, and included at school; and because our school communities, not an unelected, provincially appointed supervisor, should be central to decision-making. Our schools are facing serious issues with large class sizes, increasing classroom violence, and budget cuts that endanger the safety and quality of education students receive. I am running to be a voice for our community against attacks on public education.

This election is also about the values we bring to public education. Both my opponents are aligned with the Campaign Life Coalition lobby group, which opposes reproductive choice, same-sex marriage, and IVF for family planning, among other things. I believe our schools must welcome every student and family, regardless of their background or family structure. Trustees hold a position of public trust and authority, and that role requires respecting the dignity, rights, and family choices of the people they serve—not advocating against their existence. My values and inclusive views are outlined in detail here: https://www.keelinpringnitz.ca/values.

I believe we have a responsibility to ensure that every child receives the best possible public education, and that Zone 10 deserves a trustee who will fight to make sure our public schools get the resources they need. When the provincial government removed local trustees and replaced them with a provincial supervisor and CEO, I decided I had to step up and do something.
