My name is Sheldon Starrett 謝言信 and I am running for Richmond City Councillor with the Advance Richmond Team to hold city council accountable and deliver change at city hall. On October 17th, please vote for myself and the Advance Richmond team for City Council and School Board.
I was born at Richmond Hospital and still live and work in this city. I’m running to protect our community and build a safer, stronger Richmond.
I founded Keep Richmond Safe to advocate for public safety, drug detox, and treatment. Living beside Richmond's Alderbridge temporary modular housing, I have seen firsthand the consequences of City Council’s support for failed provincial drug policies.
I’ve led local opposition to low-barrier housing models that have brought open drug use and crime into Richmond. I also opposed Council’s proposed supervised drug consumption site at Richmond Hospital, helping prompt the Premier to stop the plan.
My vision is bold but practical: improve infrastructure and city services, support local businesses, protect our parks and agricultural land, and cut red tape.
My priorities:
