Top three federal issues facing the Good People of Fort McMurray-Cold Lake and Lac La Biche riding I believe are:
1. A strong voice, that communicates well and understands the traditional rural ways of life in northern Canada. That will uphold and fight to preserve these rural ways of life, that are currently under threat by leftwing bureaucrats and the four Canadian legacy party’s the Liberals, Conservatives, NDP and BLOC. Canada’s 4 legacy signatories to the Job killing PARIS CLIMATE ACCORD TREATY, with a single mandate, to destroy Canada’s richest natural resource of oil and gas. Alberta’s Oil Sands and our vast reserves of LNG Liquid Natural Gas wealth are the life blood of our riding and are sacred to Alberta. Both the Conservatives and Liberals have made a political living, by robbing BILLIONS of dollars in EQUALIZATION from the West. To pay for social programs like education and healthcare in Ontario, Quebec and the Atlantic Provinces over 4 decades.
PPC PEOPLE’S PARTY OF CANADA NO! MORE PARIS CLIMATE ACCORD TREATY
2. Unfair Alberta Federal Equalization Payments. This unfair draconian program was constituted in 1957, when Canada did not have universal healthcare and provincial debts. Alberta now has a projected debt of $98 Billion 2027, and a current deficit of $5.3 billion. Equalization payments are personally hurting Albertan’s both socially and economically. These payments to Quebec that Pierre Poilievre wants to continue are hurting our education and healthcare systems, hurting every Albertan’s pocketbook and our provinces fiscal position.
As your PPC Member of Parliament: ABOLISH ALL EQUALIZATION PAYMENTS!
3. Fort McMurray-Cold Lake and Canada Need a Great Canadian Reset! Rightsizing Our Federal Government and sweeping tax reforms to benefit middleclass hardworking taxpayers. Canada has the most expensive government in the world per capita. 60% of GDP per capita. Last of all other G35 countries at an average 24% of GDP per capita. PPC massive spending cuts to allow sustainable common sense fair tax cuts like: NO TAX ON OVERTIME WORK based on a standard 40hr. week. Balancing the Budget! Pension Reforms: No Tax on EI, CPP, OAS and RRSP withdrawals. Exercising Federal powers to build pipelines, remove all internal trade barriers and unleash Canada’s rich natural resources. PPC Peace through Strength plan: Defending Canada and its borders is a fundamental responsibility of our federal government. Today our military lacks equipment, adequate base housing, a fast-tracked procurement system and advanced training. A Country that does not secure and defend itself properly seldom remains a country for long. PPC will increase military spending to 3% of GDP.
Affordability & Housing
Childcare
Alan Clarke's promises
PPC believes in policies that limit government, lowers taxation and creates a higher standard of living and higher standard of business profitability. Which in turn creates affordable housing, and a fair equitable taxation system that attracts skilled workers, entrepreneurs and foreign long-term investments in Canada. The PPC’s primary goal is to make Canada the number ONE country in the G7.
Climate Change & the Environment
Clean energy
Alan Clarke's promises
Canada’s energy sector faces mounting regulatory barriers, including the Impact Assessment Act (Bill C-69) and Clean Electricity Regulations.
PPC will Withdraw Canada from the Paris Climate Accord Treaty and end the war on natural resources and our oil and gas industries. As part of this pledge the PPC will abolish Equalization 1957 under section 36(2) of Canada’s Constitution. Alberta has over paid Equalization since the program started, based on shared federal revenues in the amount of $83 Billion dollars, just about enough to eliminate Alberta’s provincial debt. PPC will repeal and abolish all enactments and regulations that restricts all natural resource extractions and developments.

Mining and minerals
Alan Clarke's promises
PPC government is committed to giving full autonomy to the provinces and granting the provinces control of revenue collections and disbursements to help reign in Federal wasteful spending. With the provinces controlling the budgeting process and monetary allocations to the federal government. PPC will enact balance budget and debt control legislation on the federal government to focus spending on core federal jurisdictions and responsibilities.
PPC Cutting Red Tape is a major priority of the People’s Party. Currently our economy is plagued by costly and excessive regulations that can be felt through our whole economy top to bottom costing approximately $15 billion annually.
PPC is fully committed to major tax reform both corporate and domestic to drive investment here in Canada. Taxes plain and simple are a wage cut and an economic investment deterrent! In the end creates a lower living standard and collapses business investment.
PPC will eliminate all corporate welfare in favour of one flat corporate tax rate in Canada to attract resource industries, tech industries and bring manufacturing back to Canada. Corporate Tax Rate of 15%. PPC has pledged NO Capital Gains Tax. NO Carbon Taxation. NO Tax on Overtime Work. Lower Personal Income Tax, only 3 tax brackets. NO Tax on CPP and EI.
Oil and gas
Alan Clarke's promises
PPC the People’s Party will immediately Repeal Bill C48 The Tanker Ban and Repeal Bill 69 and all regulations restricting Energy development in Canada. PPC will reassert the federal jurisdiction over pipelines construction, refining and mining development, expanding Canada’s electrical grid east west and port expansion in Canada’s economic interests. PPC will unleash Canada’s LNG Liquid Natural Gas wealth and export it to the world. Drill Baby Drill program. PPC will grant the federal rights of ownership, of the Trans Mountain Pipeline to the Province of Alberta, as compensation for over payments in Equalization. The People’s Party sees LNG Liquid Natural Gas, as Canada’s next wealth generating economic engine. PPC is committed to unleashing Canada’s LNG exports on the whole world, to create jobs, wealth and reduce global emissions! LNG Expansion is estimated to generate $ 7.4 billion annually.
Jobs, Businesses, & Labour
Inter-provincial business and trade
Alan Clarke's promises
PPC will get rid of Provincial Internal Trade Barriers. A 2016 study published in the Canadian Journal of Economics concluded that interprovincial trade barriers cost the economy roughly $100 billion annually. Equivalent to $7,500 per household every year. PPC will appoint a Minister of Internal Trade to pressure the provinces into removing all trade barriers. If necessary PPC will use section 91(2) of the Constitution which gives Ottawa exclusive jurisdiction to regulate matters of international and interprovincial trade in Canada.
Canada’s energy sector faces mounting regulatory barriers, including the Impact Assessment Act (Bill C-69) and Clean Electricity Regulations.
International trade
Alan Clarke's promises
No economy can function properly and attract foreign and domestic investment capital if you can’t get products to market. Driving investment requires reliable trading partners. Canada needs to stop burying our heads in the sand. In 3 months, we’ve gone from climate hysteria to Trump hysteria. Canada must abolish supply management to the benefit of our economy, so we can end all tariffs and become a free trade nation. We cannot criticize Trump tariff’s when we have 250% tariffs on US dairy. Negotiations on a new U.K.- Canada Free Trade deal was suspended Jan 2024 over our supply management programs. This is counter productive if we want to diversify our trade to be less dependent on the United States. PPC will eliminate Supply Management 2025.

Manufacturing
Alan Clarke's promises
PPC believes that all-natural resources are the jurisdiction of the provinces and is a non-starter for the federal government. PPC the provinces and territories will have 100% autonomy over their resources. I can’t emphasize that strongly enough.
The federal government has introduced increasing regulations on banking, and energy that impact business viability.
PPC will unshackle the provinces, the territories, corporations and all businesses in Canada from federal government overreach and the over burden of ridiculous regulations. PPC is committed to performing the largest downsizing and reforms of Canada’s Federal government since our Confederation. “If we fail to act, we will no longer have the country we were born and raised in”, Alan Clarke PPC Candidate.
The recent amendments to the Competition Act targeting ‘greenwashing’ add to a growing trend of federal policies prioritizing environmental regulation over economic growth.
Mining and minerals

Small businesses
Alan Clarke's promises
Small and medium-sized businesses are struggling with rising costs due to inflation, supply chain disruptions, and interest rates.
PPC will reduce the small business tax to 5% the same as the GST. PPC has costed a plan to remove all GST Goods and Services Taxes from all residential, commercial and industrial building and construction materials from concrete, steel and lumber to the kitchen sink, to drive the small business economy and make housing more affordable and plentiful. PPC believes these bold visionary measures will create an economic boom in Canada, not yet seen in this Century.
Supply management

Minority Rights, Fair Government, & Democracy
Government budgets
Alan Clarke's promises
Alberta has overpaid into the federal equalization program a staggering $ 83 billion dollars, 2007 to 2025. PPC believes that some if not all of that money should be returned to Alberta in the form of infrastructure developments. Fort McMurray and our oil sand are the key economic driver of the Canadian Economy. Fort McMurray and Cold Lake are the gateway to the north, Canada economic engine and are strategically positioned in Canada from a national security perspective. PPC believes that Fort McMurray should have an International Airport with a 2nd runway of over 10,000 ft. to accommodate wide body transport planes for both commercial, domestic and national security.
PPC also believes its not too much to ask the federal government for funding, to twin Hwy 28 from Hwy 63 to Edmonton. And build a paved Hwy designated as a heavy haul corridor from Fort McMurray to Grande Prairie, and the Peace region. We believe investments like this are common sense and in the best interest of Alberta and Canada in such uncertain global times. Theses investments are compatible with the PPC Plan to increase Canada’s military budget to 3% of GDP. Elections are about choices. The movement of goods, especially food and agricultural products are vital within Canada.
Multiculturalism and diversity
Alan Clarke's promises
PPC believes that all immigration should be economic based, that recognizes an immigrant’s credentials from professionals to tech workers, trades workers, other skilled workers and business entrepreneurs. Granting them fast vetted access to Canada, if they are fluent in the English Language. PPC will enact a moratorium of 5 years on unskilled immigrants and the high cost of refugees until Canada fiscal position is back to balance, and we are reducing the federal debt.
The current Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) process is slow, inconsistent, and lacks an appeal mechanism, creating unnecessary barriers for businesses facing critical labour shortages.
Tax fairness
Alan Clarke's promises
PPC People’s Party of Canada has the boldest policy platform in the 2025 Federal Election to grow the Canadian economy. Canada has been in economic decline since the turn of this Century. 2005 to 2015 minimal GDP growth 1.4% and 2015 to 2025 1.3% GDP growth. Starting at the top, PPC plans to cut and right size the Federal Government from the current 35 ministry departments down to 18 ministry departments. This needed reform will automatically cut wasteful spending and reduce costly unnecessary regulation (red tape) that is choking our economy. According to the Treasury Department there were 367,772 federal employees 2024. A 43% increase since 2015 under a liberal government. The Conservatives voted for the liberals massive covid spending, and new unconstitutional programs that intrude on Alberta’s provincial jurisdiction. That increased our federal debt to $1.4 Trillion from $640 Billion thus bloating the size of our federal government. Of the G35 countries Canada has the costliest government at 62% per person of GDP. PPC pledges to lower the cost of government to the G35 average of 24% per person of GDP by 2030.
PPC will create a new Department of Government Downsizing within a new Ministry of Electoral Reform, Rightsizing Government and the Senate. Eliminate the deficit and balance the budget within a year of taking office. By drastically cutting budgets and eliminating wasteful programs like corporate welfare, foreign aid, equalization payments, the Canada Infrastructure Bank, the Strategic Innovation fund and all other programs that duplicate provincial programs or intrude on provincial jurisdiction.

Hi Folks, I’m humbled to have the opportunity to serve the great people of Fort McMurray-Cold Lake riding in the upcoming Federal Election.
Like many Albertans and Canadians from other provinces, I work in the entire riding and reside in Edmonton. I’m a field service heavy duty mechanic, millwright, welder, 4th generation ex-farmer and mines supervisor. With an extensive background in agriculture, forestry, logging, road building, aggregate industry, pipeline construction and the oils sands.
Politics and military service runs deep in my Family, dating back to the First World War, Our Confederation 1867, and the American Civil War 1865. My Uncle Andrew Clarke (RRMC 1947) was the Squadron Leader of the RCAF 108. My Aunt Betty Clarke was principal secretary for Agriculture Minister Eugene Whelan.
I’m a currently a UCP Member, past president BC Conservatives, Co-Policy Chair Reform, Agriculture critic and Electoral Reform Rep for the BC STV 2005.
I put my name forward to run in this election for the sake of my Children and their Grandchildren’s future, hopefully in a Democratic Free Country! When a new Registered Political Party in Canada, that received 6% of the national vote in the last 2021 Federal Election. And it’s Party’s Leader, Maxime Bernier a Canadian Member of Parliament that served Canada 2006 to 2019 14 years in positions as Foreign Affairs Minister, Industry Minister and Minster of State. Is politically barred and blocked via bias leftwing liberal skullduggery. Within Canada’s MSM CBC, CTV, Global national networks, the bias pollsters and the liberal bias FEDERAL LEADERS DEBATE COMMISSION! At a time, when his experience and level-headed approach as Canada’s former Industry Minister and Foreign Minister on the subject of tariff’s and trade, would be invaluable to the debate on Canada’s future direction post April 28th, 2025. It becomes very concerning, when other political leaders in Canada, running for Prime Minister like Mark Carney and Pierre Poilievre just idlily stand by and don’t speak up on this most egregious bias media liberal attack on a former MP Minister and colleague running for election himself, to be Prime Minister. PPC PEOPLE’S PARTY is Canada’s LAST CHANCE AND HOPE TO SAVE OUR BROKEN DEMOCRACY! OH CANADA!
“Alberta Needs an Alternative” “Let’s Start Right Here in Fort McMurray-Cold Lake-Lac la Biche” quote: Peter Lougheed. PPC FREEDOM, RESPONSIBILITY, FAIRNESS and RESPECT. A bright prosperous future where government put’s Fort McMurray, Cold Lake, Lac la Biche and ALBERTA FIRST 2025 to 2030.
