They may still in the future!
Biography
I am so excited to get involved and contribute to positive environmental and social change in my neighbouring province. As someone who has long advocated for environmental sustainability, I’m passionate about addressing climate change through community-driven solutions. My motivation comes from my desire to build a more sustainable, equitable future for both our local communities and Canada as a whole.
I have worked in community engagement and program development with a focus on environmental initiatives. As Chapter Lead for Protect Our Winters (POW), I helped grow the chapter from the ground up in Whistler, organizing educational events and campaigns that engaged local businesses, organizations, and individuals in climate action. I’ve successfully led initiatives that recruited volunteers, built valuable community partnerships, and promoted environmental advocacy.
Additionally, I played a pivotal role in the 2024 B.C. Green Party provincial election campaign, organizing events and communicating key science-based policies that resonate with local communities. I helped to elect the first B.C. Green on the mainland – Jeremy Valeriote.
I am also a small-scale flower farmer, growing flowers sustainably, and serve on the Agricultural Advisory Committee, where I work to promote sustainable farming practices both environmentally and economically. I aim to continue advancing sustainable practices for all communities, focusing on grassroots organizing and long-term planning.
I want to ensure that our region takes the lead in climate action, fostering collaboration between governments, businesses, and residents to build a future where our communities thrive while protecting the planet. My vision for the future is one where environmental sustainability is integrated into every aspect of our lives, creating a healthier and more resilient Canada for generations to come.
