Reason for running

submitted by the candidate or their team
I’m running for Abbotsford City Council because I believe in listening, responsible leadership and putting our community first. I want to help build a safer, more vibrant and financially responsible Abbotsford, while planning wisely for our future.

I am running for Abbotsford City Council because I believe our community deserves experienced, responsible and community-focused leadership.

After 18 years serving as an elected School Trustee, I have seen firsthand what can be accomplished when leaders listen, work together and make decisions with the long-term interests of families and the community in mind. I want to bring that experience to City Council.

Abbotsford is growing, and with growth comes both opportunity and responsibility. We need to plan carefully, manage taxpayers’ dollars responsibly, and ensure that city services keep pace with the needs of our residents.

My priorities are straightforward: improving community safety, expanding recreation opportunities, making city services and permitting more efficient, maintaining strong fiscal responsibility, and supporting responsible growth.

I also believe leadership begins with listening. Every neighborhood, family, business owner, senior and young person has a perspective that deserves to be heard. My goal is to work collaboratively, build relationships and find practical solutions.

Abbotsford has been my home for more than three decades. My wife, Rapinder, is a local educator, our three children attended Abbotsford schools, and our family is proud to call this community home.

I am running because I care deeply about Abbotsford and want to help build a safe, vibrant, financially responsible and welcoming city for today and for future generations.
