Michael was born in 1966 and is native to the GTA. He grew up first in West Hill, and then Thornhill, where in high school he played competitively in sports such as hockey in the town of Maple and baseball in Thornhill. After graduating from Western University, he began his career in Finance in Toronto, then was transferred to New York City. His experience in NYC of 10 years working in world global markets should not be overshadowed by what he experienced on that horrific morning of September 11, 2001, where he was just one building away from the Twin Towers. Having lost hundreds of former colleagues and his best friend at the time was devastating, but what he had learned and the contacts made across that decade in capital markets were instrumental in creating who he is today.
In February of 2006, he co-founded the New York office for an investment bank that was headquartered in Toronto. After later moving back to Toronto, Michael has lived in Don Valley West since 2016. Michael stresses that he is not a politican, and he wants his children and all children to have the same opportunities, freedom of speech, Charter of Rights entitlements and all other freedoms that he enjoyed when he grew up. On foreign transfers of taxpayer dollars, he is passionate about putting our people of Canada and especially the First Nations as well as military veterans first and foremost.
Michael pledges to focus on the needs of the people of Don Valley West and wants to hear from constituents in the weeks to come. Join Michael in working to make Canada a better place by supporting the great principles of Maxime Bernier and the People’s Party of Canada!
