Reason for running
Motivation to get involved comes from family across multiple generations. From protecting the rights of seniors to ensuring our children have a secure future with access to education and ultimately affordable housing.
As I started this campaign, it was focused on healthcare and pharmacare. To be able to provide full no cost accessibility of medications to Canadians should be a right. For seniors, I will work for more in-home services so that those with mobility issues do not have the stress of travelling. People over 50 need medications the most and that should be provided at no cost. Families should not have to be in a position to choose medications versus paying the mortgage.
I will work to provide free post secondary education at the undergraduate level for those that qualify. This again is a right for Canadian children.
I will work for climate change initiatives such as stopping the Trans Mountain pipeline and re-train all individuals involved currently. Also, work to provide extensive subsidies for new electric and hybrid vehicles to replace passenger vehicles older than 2015 and for those that need to purchase a new car.
Will work with the banks to reduce the eligibility requirements for home buyers and set mortgage rates as low as possible. Will look to build more co-operative housing and Green rated buildings.
Will work to install more Biogas generators and rooftop solar panels to supplement if not replace our electrical needs.
Work to provide real pandemic financial relief to small businesses and those negatively impacted. Have realistic eligibility requirements for access to funds to keep small businesses going. For those that lost jobs or had incomes reduced, work to provide mortgage and rent relief.
Will work with food banks to ensure that they are stocked with quality items and reduce the eligibility criteria.
