Jiayi-Li McCarthy is an active resident of Glenbrook North. She is running for council as a member of the New West Progressives.

Jiayi competed with China’s National Cycling Team, becoming Women’s National Champion from 1985 to 1989 and a Gold Medalist "All of Asia" in 1991.

Jiayi’s a proud member of UFCW local 1518 and has served thousands of local residents as an employee of Safeway at McBride Blvd and 8th Ave for 15 years. Outside of work, she has dedicated many hours fundraising for several important causes, including "Riding to Fight Kids’ Cancer".

As an immigrant, she loves New Westminster and has always given back to the community.

Getting back to the basics is important. When elected to City Council, Jiayi will focus on housing affordability, our seniors, and bringing the recycling depot back to New Westminster.
