A four-term Delta School Trustee, retired teacher and former Delta Teachers' Association President, Val Windsor has spent her career advocating for students and educators. She is focused on strong academics, inclusive schools and preparing students for the future.

A four-term trustee and lifelong educator, Val Windsor has a proven track record of advocacy for public education and for results-driven leadership.

First elected to the Delta School Board in 2011, Val is seeking re-election to a fifth term as a school trustee. During that time, she served for five years as chair of the Delta Board of Education. Before retiring as a teacher, Val served as president of the Delta Teachers’ Association for eight years where she was dedicated to supporting the educators in our community.

Val has long been active in advancing inclusive education and community supports. She serves on the Inclusive Learning Committee, the liaison committee between the school district and the city, the Delta Youth Advisory Council (DYAC) and the Metro Vancouver English Language Learners Consortium, where she served as chair for three years.

Val’s leadership reflects One Delta’s commitment to practical, transparent governance that puts students, families, and educators first.

She is proud of her work supporting initiatives such as the development of Delta Community College, advancing Truth and Reconciliation and improving graduation rates among Indigenous students. Val remains focused on strengthening inclusive, well-supported schools to improve learning outcomes for all.

Val also emphasizes the importance of strong academic foundations and preparing students for the future. As she has said, “School boards have to focus on boosting reading and math skills and championing innovation like our new career pathways program that gives students practical skills and clear paths to their future careers.”

A long-time Delta resident, Val values time with her family and remains active in her community through volunteering at her church and helping organize the North Delta Terry Fox Run.
