Biography

submitted by the candidate or their team
I am the mom of an elementary student in the District. After 33 years, I recently retired as an executive with the RCMP. My family and I live on the shores of Cowichan Lake and are involved in Lake Cowichan Minor Hockey, Duncan Stingrays Swimming and our local school.

Last year I was the in-class volunteer for my child’s grade 6 class. This opportunity inspired me to educate myself on how our educational system was progressing and whether it was truly meeting the needs of all students and employees

Through the SD#79’s Strategic Plan - Beyond Education I was impressed with actions currently underway. I would like to bring my energy as an invested mom along with my corporate and leadership expertise to continuing on with the action items while challenging myself and others on the board in preparing for the next strategic plan In 2024.

What are we discovering today that can support successful students in the future.

Reason for running

submitted by the candidate or their team
With a corporate background and extensive experience in community engagement, I have led successful projects which have positively impacted children across Canada. Now retired, I seek to bring this experience to benefit the students and employees of School District #79.
