Stephanie has spent over 35 years as a prominent Toronto journalist most notably as a lead anchor for CP24. More recently she owned her own consulting firm. Stephanie has been a lifelong community advocate for midtown Toronto and has held those in power to account!

Holding people in power accountable is what Stephanie Smyth has done for 35 years. As one of the city’s most prominent journalists, Stephanie has questioned mayors, premiers, and prime ministers on their policies, plans, and politics with the best interests of Torontonians at heart.

At this stage in her life, Stephanie is looking to serve as your strong, trusted voice for Toronto—St. Paul’s. She’s learned a lot from covering politics and policy, but also from watching family and friends struggle navigating the health system, school system, and simply being able to afford everyday life. For her, it’s about more than slogans and gimmicks. It’s about intelligent decisions and policies with long-term impact.

Stephanie has lived in midtown Toronto her entire life, including starting her family in a home on Oriole Parkway. Growing up, Stephanie went to Bedford Park Public School, Glenview Senior Public School and Lawrence Park Collegiate Institute. Stephanie and her husband Paul have four grown children and a beloved Aussiedoodle, Ozzy.
