Diljeet Brar is running as your NDP candidate in Burrows.
Diljeet grew up in Punjab, India, where he studied and taught at the Agricultural University. After immigrating to Manitoba he served the Department of Agriculture as Extension Coordinator. Diljeet was elected MLA for Burrows in 2019 and has served as the NDP’s Critic for Agriculture and Critic for Sport, Culture and Heritage. Diljeet has been instrumental in raising funds for Seven Oaks Performing Arts Center and for Human Rights education at the University of Manitoba. Youth leadership development is his passion and he continues to mentor young leaders in many ways. In May 2022 Diljeet passed legislation to mark Turban Day and celebrate the significance of the turban to Sikh Manitobans.
